ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

My name is Miranda deVroomen and I am twenty-six years old.  I grew up in Northern Kentucky on a Russian Arabian horse farm.  I attended Ninety Six High School and Francis Marion University, both in South Carolina.

Since graduating with a B.S. in Political Science, I joined the Peace Corps and lived in Niquinohomo, Nicaragua as a high school Business teacher.  This was the best and worst experience of my life.  I discovered many things about myself that I did not know.  For example, I enjoy travelling and I can teach!  Ultimately, my project was canceled due to security reasons.

Now, I am back in Florence, SC and have worked almost three years in Customer Service and International Relations.  I lost my job in March due to a corporate reduction in force, which motivated me to pursue my Master’s in Education at the University of Phoenix on-line.

My favorite things to do include jogging with my dog, Mac, and playing with my nieces and nephews (I have 8 of them).

My goals for each class include learning the basics of Spanish and the applications of this language in life.  I want the students to have fun and learn the vocabulary through songs and games.  I look forward to a great school year!
